If there is one room in the home that is always needed, it is the bathroom. Usually the powder room is more so used for guest that are simply staying for a short time an not overnight. The additional bathroom is a good choice for many homeowners who do not want to subject their overnight guests to the family bathroom. Not that there is anything wrong with the family bathroom. You simply just may not want them to have to share the bathroom with your kids.
The bonus bathroom is usually located adjacent to the guest room or somewhere in close vicinity. However, for added convenience, creating a guest suite would probably be the best option depending on the amount of space you have to work with.
